Oaths are a dime a dozen when you’re immortal, but we rarely consider the longstanding consequences.
As a god, I’ve lost track of the number of promises I’ve sworn. Some have stuck with me for an eternity, though, and they’re coming into conflict with each other.
Desperation has me searching through forgotten tomes for answers to a millennia old problem, and vows from the past begin to rear their ugly heads. Regardless of which pledge I choose to honor, the cost will be high for someone I’m loyal to.
But there’s one thing I’m not willing to sacrifice, and I’ll sever every other bond to protect her.
